London graffiti legend King Robbo has died today after being taken off of life support. Robbo suffered a traumatic head injury back in 2011 and was put into a medically-induced coma. His supporters, Team Robbo, announced the news of his death today. King Robbo was among the first to rise to the tops of London's graffiti scene, getting his start in the 1980's. Robbo continued his work well through the 90's but then fell into a hiatus. In 2009 his work rose again when Banksy painted over an original piece from 1985, igniting a clash that lasted two years and captured the attention of graffiti lovers and the art world alike. When Robbo suffered his injury, the clash ended rather quickly and today Banksy posted the following on his website to pay homage to the legend:
“ROBBO WRH WD PFB – R.I.P.”
