Pharrell is no stranger to the art world, and his latest work in the realm of contemporary art is as the Guest Curator for “This Is Not A Toy” with Curator John Wee Tom and DX Associate Curator Sara Nickleson. The exhibition showcases contemporary sculptures, figurines and artworks from Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Coarse, Huck Gee, FriendsWithYou and more. The kay point of the exhibition is to approach figures, not at toys but, as a reflection of the culture and contemporary design. The showcase takes place at Toronto’s Design Museum, Design Exchange. Pharrell’s involvement is really due to the fact that he’s so passionate about the genre and explains that urban vinyl and collectible design is what brought him into the world of contemporary art.This unique look at contemporary culture and contemporary design is now open and will remain on view until May 19th, location is below.
